In accordance with the Administrative Regulation N°24/2004 of July 26, 2004 (Organizational Structure and Function of Labour Affairs Bureau), the Labour Inspection Department has the following duties:
 
  • Handle disputes between employers and employees;
  • Crack down on illegal work;
  • Promote labour regulations to employers, employees and the related vocational training institutions for correct understanding and effective compliance with the labour regulations;
  • Conduct research and provide technical opinions on relevant labour laws;
  • Set up files about occupational injuries and occupational diseases, as well as occupational safety and health, and follow up the related procedures;
  • Monitor the employment agencies operations.
