Statement on Collection of Personal Data

1. Purpose of collecting and handling personal data

When using the electronic services, or downloading and filling in various electronic forms provided in this website, the user may be required to provide personal information depending on different service requirements. Such information will only be used for relevant purposes.

2. Transfer of personal data

Depending on the actual need of the services, the personal data collected and handled by the Labour Affairs Bureau may be transferred to other administrative organs, judicial organs, or private entities. Such organs or entities are required to comply with the relevant legislation while processing the personal data.

3. Access and correction of personal data

According to Law No. 8/2005 “Personal Data Protection Act”, the user has the right to access and correct in writing the personal data held by the Labour Affairs Bureau, or to directly access or correct his/her personal data transferred by the Labour Affairs Bureau to other administrative organs, judiciary organs, and private entities.

For the user’s convenience, some electronic services may display the information submitted in the past, so that the user is not required to fill it in again to save time. Any outdated information (for example, telephone number) can be updated immediately.

4. Protection for personal data

All administrators of this website, when processing personal data, are obliged to take appropriate measures to keep the data safe and confidential according to Law No. 8/2005 “Personal Data Protection Act” until the expiry period of its use or the expiry period of storage, and at that time such data will be destroyed or sealed as stipulated in the law.

5. Risks

The Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology is used in this website to protect personal data transmitted over the Internet. Since such data is transmitted over an open network, there is a risk of being read or used by a third party without permission. If the user does not want to take that risk, the information can be provided to the Labour Affairs Bureau through means other than the Internet.

6. Links to external websites

This website has hyperlinks to other external websites, such as links to public bodies or private institutions in Macao or abroad. When linking to those external websites through these hyperlinks, it indicates that the user is out of this website. The privacy policies of those websites may be different from the one of this website, so the Labour Affairs Bureau is not responsible for the contents of those websites or their privacy policies, thus the user should be aware of such privacy policies in advance.

7. Amendments to the Statement

If any amendment occurs to the Statement, the Labour Affairs Bureau will replace the old version with a new one and the date of amendment will be stated without further notice.
